Securities module

Types of trades supported : Equities, Bonds, Funds and Partnership Investments. Both long and short sell trades are supported. It is possible to use the securities module to book other products which are revalued and use the same inventory accounting methodology (e.g. Fund investments and futures). The system generates and posts accounting entries to the general ledger for realised gain/loss, unrealised gain/loss, commission and other charges. Users can define which internal accounts these postings go to.

Inventory methods : FIFO, LTFO, LIFO, average cost and specified matching. Inventory methods are defined for each fund. The inventory method for Futures can be defined separately.

Flexible revaluation parameters : You decide when to revalue and from what source. Different funds trading in the same security can use different prices/sources to revalue the same security. Revaluation of securities can be run daily, weekly, monthly or any other frequency specified by the user. If a revaluation price of a security has to be corrected , perform the correction and re-run the revaluation. All accounting entries will be automatically adjusted and will flow through into a revised NAV and financial statements.

Upload functions : Securities may be uploaded directly from a text file (which can be created from any spreadsheet). In addition specific feeds are available from a number of different Prime Brokers.

Price importation : Prices can be imported from a major price source provider. The import can be based on the external securities identification codes stored in the system ( CUSIP/ISIN/SEDOL/TICKER) . The system can also import foreign exchange rates.

Fund of Funds Support : PFS-PAXUS has specific features to support Fund of Funds. These include the ability to enter % increase in market prices, storage of estimate / final prices and the ability to "regenerate" trades when an estimated price changes.

Investments in Partnership & Management Accounts : Users can enter investment amounts & market values for these types of investments (instead of number of shares and price per share).
