User profiles : Each user has a separate user profile on which defined functions include input of transactions, authorisation of transactions and the ability to run processing programs such as NAV calculations. Individual users can only see funds to which they have been given access. If a user incorrectly enters a password repetitively, their account will be "locked" until reset by the security officer.
External access : Because PFS-PAXUS system security is integrated with Microsoft SQL Server, external access from ODBC or other sources can be controlled in the same way as the regular client software users.
Separate authorisation : The system can be set up to force transactions to be authorised by a second user. The system logs which user entered and authorised transactions and the date and time.
Automated processing log : The system stores and displays the date , time and user who ran automated processes such as valuations.
Full history of deleted transactions : Details of deleted transactions are stored in a separate table. Additionally full accounting reversal journal entries are generated for deleted transactions.
Security event log : The security event log lists and prioritises security events which may range in order of priority from regular log in / log out activity through to failed password attempts and security officer actions such as creating and deleting users. It is available for review by the security officers and data is maintained in the system for a definable number of months.
